One of my close friends, composer Russel „Russ“ Garcia, was visiting me with his charming wife Gina.
Russel Garcia was born on April 12, 1916 in Oakland, CA, wrote the film music for the TV series „Bonanza“, which is also well-known here, as well as the film music for the movie „The Time Machine“, to name just a few. He worked with greats of the film business such as Elvis Presley, Charly Chaplin, John Wayne, Rod Taylor, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Jackson and many more!
In the movie „Lethal Weapon II“, Mel Gibson „blows up“ Russel and Gina’s house.
Russel died of cancer on November 20, 2011 at his home in Kerikeri, New Zealand.
